Whale Dish Sculpting Workshop, Sat. 5/10, 6-8pm
Sculpt your own Whale to use as a fun dish or a nautical planter! You could even create a Narwhal, Sea Lion, or a Manatee! Use slab clay and hand building techniques taught by our experienced potters with step by step instruction. Choose from our shape, pattern, and letter stamps to personalize your pottery in your own style! Your piece will take time to dry. Then it will be fired in our kiln.
Return after 2 weeks to paint your dish with colorful pottery glazes (no additional cost and no appt. needed). Then it goes into the kiln for a final firing so that it’s waterproof and even food safe. Ready 2 weeks after painting. Ages 8 and up welcome!
Note: This workshop is sculpting clay at a table, not on the pottery wheel.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to get settled, as instruction will begin promptly at 6pm.
Late arrival of 20 minutes or more will be considered a cancellation without refund.
Registrations are closed 2 hours prior to the workshop so that we can prepare materials.
Aprons are provided, but glaze may get on clothing and shoes, which washes off easily.
Beverages are allowed to be brought with you, including alcohol for ages 21+.
